February 2010 – What We’re Reading, Watching, etc.
Not a lot to report on the viewing side of things this month.
Finished the Mars Trilogy by Robinson, obviously.
Also read something completely unrelated to the science fiction/fantasy genre that I would like to share, however. I sat down to read, To Try Men’s Souls: A Novel of George Washington and the Fight for American Freedom by Newt Gingrich, and I’ll be darned if I didn’t polish it off in one sitting. I have a soft spot for American Revolution history, so I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Also ended up pulling my Thomas Paine off the shelf and giving Common Sense and The American Crisis another read through. Anyway, I highly recommend the Gingrich book for a change of pace – no need to continue with Paine, although, in my opinion, it should be required reading as well.
