December 2010 – From the Editor
Welcome to the December 2010 issue of the Musings of the Othar. Like last month, I will keep this short and simple since I was very busy this month with non-writing activities.
This month’s Feature Article will be examining China Mieville’s Perdido Street Station, a fantastically imagined if not perfectly executed steampunk novel. It’s been awhile since I read something with the imaginative scope of Mieville’s work, and although it arguably contained some flaws, most notably its excessive length and overly detailed descriptions of New Crobuzon, this was a work that will leave a lasting impression. Check out the Feature Article to read more on this intriguing read.
This month also continues with my new series, The Pocket Watch, and although I had originally planned to pen two installments, releasing one mid-month, we’ll have to settle for a single installment this month. Perhaps December will see a release of multiple installments.
The Fayersae Histories continue this month, and our story stays with Cettan as he enters the realm of Bruchmon and finds his band of craftsmen attacked by Dasyu. As usual, each of the previous chapters can be found in the Full Fayersae Histories link at the top of the page.
Clarice Publishing and Othar Saga updates are also available, and I am pleased to announce that I have completed my web site updates. They can be found at http://www.otharsaga.com/
Anyway, here’s again hoping that my busy schedule allows for better progress on book three, Tongue of Hauden, in the coming weeks.
Yours Truly
P.A. Seasholtz, Editor
