January 2011 – Clarice Publishing

The launch of Clarice Publishing and the release of Animus of Hauden are certainly the big events of last year, but in some ways, I think the biggest accomplishments may have been tackling the learning curve that was Adobe InDesign and the account set up with Lightning Source.  It is easy to forget how much time was spent on layout, both for the print and electronic versions of Animus of Hauden; the web site redesign and the additional web material for Animus of Hauden, while important, seem trivial in comparison.

One thing that was lacking last year was marketing, and this is one of the primary goals for the New Year.  I have started a relationship with Book Candy Studios to begin addressing this shortcoming.  I don’t have much to report yet, but hopefully next month’s update will detail these efforts.

Of course, the primary goal for the New Year will be to finish and release book three in the Harmony of the Othar Saga, Tongue of Hauden.  I anticipate an easier time with the print and electronic layouts, provided I don’t have to relearn too much.
